Appendicitis & Colorectal Tumors

Appendix cancers are very rare cancers of the vermiform appendix. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are rare tumors with malignant potential. Primary lymphomas can occur in the appendix. Breast cancer, colon cancer, and tumors of the female genital tract may metastasise to the appendix.

Radiation Cancer Therapy

Radiation therapy or radiotherapy, often abbreviated RT, RTx, or XRT, uses ionizing radiation, generally provided as part of cancer treatment to control or kill malignant cells and usually delivered by a linear accelerator.

Cancer Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy (often abbreviated to chemo and sometimes CTX or CTx) is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs (chemotherapeutic agents) as part of a standardized chemotherapy regimen.

Radical Cancer Surgery

In surgical oncology, radical surgery is intended to remove both a tumor and any metastases for diagnostic and treatment purposes.

Cancer Screening

Cancer screening aims to detect cancer before symptoms appear. This may involve blood, urine, DNA, and other tests or medical imaging. The benefits of screening regarding cancer prevention, early detection and subsequent treatment must be weighed against any harms.

Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, or minimally invasive surgery (MIS), bandaid surgery, or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique. There are several advantages to the patient with laparoscopic surgery versus an exploratory laparotomy.
